Hit 'like'

How many times do we see that phrase? It's on almost every advertisement.  Years ago it was something if a product had its own web address...now all you need to do is click or hit something and you are instantly connected. There is the spiritual practice of offering short little phrases to Our Lord throughout the day. O Lord have mercy on me, a sinner. Happens to be one of my favorites. I suppose it is similar to hitting a spiritual 'like'. That said...be sure to hit the like button for the Facebook page on your left and God bless. Michael

Storming Heaven with Prayers and The End of the World

What would happen if we stormed Heaven with prayers....as many prayers as people shop on black friday and cyber monday???? On another note. I noticed there is a date for the end of the world.   It is December 21, 2012. Having a date for the end isn't a new concept. St. Benedict said, "Always keep death before you." Perhaps some good could come out of the fear mongering. Advent will be upon us in a few days. Take the time ---To pray a little more ---Fast a little more ---Go to Confession ---Receive Holy Eucharist ---Read some more Scripture......in these '5' ways you will be preparing for your 'day'---whenever it may come.

Social and Spiritual

Once again I have ventured into the world of social webwork. Twitter:   @praylium Facebook:  CLICK HERE I hope this helps with some homegrown publicity for the book.  Of course if you feel so moved to share these links I would be grateful. God Bless and have a Holy Advent. -Michael

Just A Reminder....

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.  I have heard from several people expecting to attend the Marian Gathering.  Please share the word that this has been cancelled.  I am very sorry to announce that the Marian Gathering with myself, Wayne Weible, and Fr. Bill Kiel scheduled for November 25 has been cancelled. We look forward to rescheduling the event within the year. God Bless, Michael

Mis-Use of 'Ex-Priest'

Read this... "....Thomas Groome, an ex-priest who serves as national co-chairman of Catholics for Obama. Groome, who has criticized Catholic teaching on women’s ordination, wrote in 2002 that “the presence of women as priests and bishops would be an extraordinary gift to the life of the Catholic Church.” In one work, he wrote: I visited [Rome] on the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6, 2000 … I was present for the papal mass on that Epiphany morning, and the liturgy reflected the same exclusivity – no women or people of color in the sanctuary, only white men and none of them looked poor. Now I found myself wondering if Jesus, who founded a radically inclusive community of disciples – catholic at its best – would recognize any of this as his legacy..." It was taken from  catholic culture. org  Here is the part that gets me--the description of Thomas Groome, an 'ex-priest'. Guys like him give guys like me a bad rap, (come to think of it--for
